What Makes the Hydraulic Crane Undercarriage Special?

The hydraulic crane undercarriage from KA Cranes uses hydraulic support for particularly comfortable lifting of mobile cranes. The hydraulic technology significantly reduces the required effort when lifting – pulling the crane is done with your own strength.

Key feature: Hydraulic support when lifting the entire crane system

Hydraulic Support in Detail

Effortless Lifting despite High Dead Weight

The hydraulic support of the undercarriage allows effortless lifting despite high dead weight. Where mechanical undercarriages require more time for lifting, the hydraulic system takes over lifting faster and more comfortably.

Important: When the crane is put into a “movable” state, it must not be under load – there must be no load hanging from the hoist.

Alternative to Forklifts

In confined production areas where forklifts have no space or do not offer sufficient load capacity, the hydraulic undercarriage is the ideal alternative for relocating the crane.

Interchangeable and Space-Saving

The undercarriage is interchangeable between different mobile cranes and can be stored in a space-saving manner when space is limited. Thus, one undercarriage can be used for multiple cranes. The undercarriage can be adapted at any time afterwards.

When to Choose Hydraulic Instead of Mechanical Undercarriage?

Usage Scenario Hydraulic Undercarriage Mechanical Undercarriage
Frequent location changes ✅ Optimal ❎ Possible
Lifting heavy crane equipment ✅ Effortless ❎ More time-consuming
Confined production areas ✅ Very comfortable ❎ Standard
Frequency of use ✅ Recommended for more than 2-3x/month ❎ For occasional use

Application Areas for Hydraulic Undercarriages

Frequent Location Changes (more than 2-3 Times per Month)

When cranes need to regularly switch between different locations, the hydraulic undercarriage offers decisive advantages in lifting. The recommendation: From more than 2-3 location changes per month, the investment in hydraulic support is worthwhile.

Cranes with High Dead Weight

The mobile cranes have a high dead weight due to the integrated foundation column. Lifting by a hydraulic pump controls all 3 lifting elements of the undercarriage simultaneously. This provides a valuable opportunity to make the crane mobile without much time expenditure.

Alternative to Forklifts in Confined Areas

In confined production areas where forklifts have no space or do not offer sufficient load capacity, the hydraulic undercarriage provides a practical alternative for crane relocation.

Multiple Cranes per Undercarriage

Wherever multiple mobile cranes are in use, the interchangeability of the undercarriage between cranes offers economic advantages. A hydraulic undercarriage can be stored in a space-saving manner and used on different cranes as needed.

Installation and Dismantling

The hydraulic crane chassis is designed for easy handling:

  • Assembly: Quick integration into the mobilecrane system
  • Dismantling: Fully dismantlable when requirements change
  • Drawbar: Removable for space-saving storage or transport
  • Maintenance: Low-maintenance hydraulic components
